SECONDARY SECTOR
Technological advances implemented in ITC have a significant impact on a wide range of manufacturing industries, driving innovation and quality in both products and processes, making them more efficient, safer and with less impact, both environmentally and economically.
What are we currently working on?
Some examples of activities within the secondary sector in which ITC has worked are, according to their CNAE code:

2332 - Manufacturing of bricks, tiles and fired clay products for construction: development of construction materials with lower CO emissions2.

10 – Food industry: Reuse of waste from egg-producing industries for the production of ceramic tiles.

222 – Production of plastic products: Recycling of waste from the ceramics sector to reinforce plastics used to manufacture urban furniture.

293 – Manufacturing of motor vehicle components, parts and accessories: INDUSTRIAL PROCESS SIMULATION

28 – Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. design and manufacturing of an X-ray based device to determine the apparent density of ceramic tiles.

2012 – Production of colorants and pigments: - manufacturing ceramic pigments out of cathodes from discarded lithium-ion batteries.

24 - Metallurgy; manufacture of iron, steel and ferro-alloy products: Reduction of toxicity from respirable crystalline silica.

35 - Electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply: generation of renewable hydrogen from biomass.
