El ITC, con el proyecto Cer OH Strategies, fomenta la reducción de emisiones de CO2 en la cerámica

IMDEEA/2018/12

Castellón, 31 July 2018: The Cer-Oh ! Strategies project, which is being carried out by the Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC) thanks to the support of the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), studies and sets before the ceramic sector a series of strategies based on the circular economy to help the ceramic tile manufacturing industry adapt to the low-carbon scenario targeted for 2050 by the European Commission.

According to ITC sources, the aim is: "to drastically reduce CO2 emissions. ITC is therefore going to address process and product optimisation strategies that are currently being developed, while concurrently putting forward alternatives based on new production processes and novel products. To do so, ITC will carry out a prospective analysis of environmental impacts using Life Cycle Assessment, performing cost calculations in all contexts where this can be done."

In addition, as the ceramic industry is immersed in a process of adaptation to Industry 4.0 concepts, the Cer-Oh ! Strategies project will verify the feasibility of implementing the proposed alternative processes.
