The study includes a comparative assessment against other competing products in this field, to define the required levels of the different performances, both through laboratory characterisation and field studies under real conditions of use.
The research also covers all aspects considered relevant by the consumer, including functional, hygiene and safety characteristics, as well as environmental performance, the latter being assessed through product life cycle analysis (LCA).
The results of this project will be passed on to the relevant standardisation bodies in order to improve the assessment methods and classification criteria for the use of pavements.
